Phase I: New Student Counselor Session

Upon applying to Rappahannock Community College, each student will participate in a conference with an RCC counselor, at which time he/she will receive an RCC Welcome and important information to get him/her on the path to success.

Phase II: First Academic Advising Meeting

After successfully registering for the first semester, students are assigned a faculty advisor who will continue to help with a semester-by-semester plan and a tentative college career plan to explore what may or may not happen beyond college and training.

Phase III: Follow-up Advising Contact

Continued contact between advisor and advisee is essential for reaching the student's academic and career goals. Therefore, follow-up activities will reoccur throughout the student's enrollment at RCC and are dependent upon the advisor and advisee taking the initiative to maintain the advising relationship.
