Instructor/Assistant Professor of Administration of Justice (Position #F0070)
Rappahannock Community College, a two-campus institution serving a rural 12-county area in the Chesapeake Bay region of Virginia seeks applicants for an Instructor/Assistant Professor Administration of Justice (Position #F0070) for the Warsaw Campus. Position begins August 16, 2008.
Position Responsibilities: Teach protective services/administration of justice courses to students at both campuses through traditional class meetings, interactive video classes and through web-based instruction. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teaching and to the community college mission and the ability to use instructional technology.
In addition to teaching, responsibility includes academic advising, service on college committees, participation in professional activities, mentoring adjunct faculty within the discipline, development and support of courses and programs, and community and institutional service. Preference will be given to a candidate who has the credentials to teach in a second discipline and the ability and willingness to coach and manage the baseball club. Teaching assignments may include a combination of day and evening classes at one or more locations served by the college. While faculty are based at a particular campus, they may be required to teach at various sites, including the other campus. Faculty may also be required to teach using distance learning modalities.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in administration of justice or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Administration of Justice.
Preferred Qualifications: Credentials in a second discipline taught at the College, coaching experience and previous teaching experience.

Rappahannock Community College/VCCS Career Switcher Program seeks qualified part-time instructors for their fast-track alternative teacher licensure program offering endorsement in English, Math, Science and Foreign Language. Classes are on-line and some Saturdays.

Adjunct Faculty in Marine Trades
Rappahannock Community College seeks qualified part-time instructors on the Glenns Campus and at the Northern Neck Technical Center. Classes are daytime, Monday through Friday beginning immediately and continuing through mid-June, 2008.
Qualifications required: High School diploma or equivalent and five years current experience in the field.
Qualifications preferred: Industry certifications and teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary environment. Associates degree or equivalent in teaching field. Salary will be based on credentials and experience.

Adjunct Faculty
Rappahannock Community College seeks qualified part-time instructors on the Glenns and Warsaw Campuses. Classes are days, evenings, and/or weekends.
Instructors are needed in the following transfer areas: nursing (Warsaw and Glenns), mathematics (Warsaw), chemistry (Warsaw), biology (Warsaw), Spanish (Warsaw and Glenns), health education (Warsaw and Glenns), history (Warsaw and Glenns), public speaking (Warsaw and Glenns). Instructors must have a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field.
Instructors are needed in the following career areas at Warsaw and Glenns: nursing, nurse aide (RN with long term care experience), criminal justice (Glenns, instructors must have bachelors degree in the teaching field and be available to teach dual enrollment morning classes at local high school), residential wiring (Glenns, instructors must have journeyman or master license and be available to teach dual enrollment morning classes on campus; associates degree preferred). All degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions.
