Administrative & Office Specialist II (position #R0068)
Rappahannock Community College seeks an individual to provide administrative and clerical support for the self-funded VCCS Career Switcher Program on the Glenns Campus.
Position reports directly to the VCCS Career Switcher Program Manager and will provide clerical and organizational support to the manager, assistant program manager, instructors, and students of the program. This position is often the first point of contact for individuals who are seeking information about the program either as students or as hiring agents from school divisions.
This position assists with the day-to-day operation, performs general office support activities, including, but not limited to reception, telephone coverage, opening and distributing mail, copying, filing, generating and distributing correspondence, file maintenance, data gathering, data entry, database creation and management, and record retention.
Qualifications Required: High school graduate or equivalent and effective office experience. Computer training/experience which demonstrates the ability to use MS Office 2007, Access and Excel. Effective written and verbal communication skills, detail oriented, strong organizational skills. Good interpersonal skills working with a diverse population. Demonstrated ability to successfully function in a team environment.
Qualifications Preferred: Experience in an academic setting.
Pay band 2, classified position with excellent benefits package. Restricted appointment. Salary range: $20,082 - $30,648 commensurate with experience. Satisfactory reference and criminal background checks are a condition of employment.

Part-time Trades Tech III (position #H0034)
Rappahannock Community College seeks a highly motivated individual dedicated to customer service for the Warsaw Campus facilities management department.
Individual performs a variety of duties to include, but not limited to: ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance, repairs and PM’s on commercial electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and painting; with prior experience in one or more of the building trades. Ability to operate vehicles and grounds equipment; perform physical labor; work from ladders up to 12 feet in height; follow written and verbal instructions required.
Valid Virginia driver’s license, satisfactory reference and criminal background checks are a condition of employment.
Preferred qualifications include: apprentice level in one or more building trades, and PC skills and knowledge of using e-mail.
30 hours per week with no benefits package – salary range: $11.53 - $17.60, commensurate with experience. Day shift with occasional evening, weekend and cross campus work required. Position reports directly to the Warsaw Campus Trades Tech IV.

Adjunct Faculty Needed
Rappahannock Community College seeks qualified part-time instructors in the following areas:
Transfer:
Physical education, English, biology, health, microcomputer applications and concepts, psychology, religion, communication studies (public speaking) and sociology. Position requirements: master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline; teaching experience preferred.
Developmental Studies:
English. Position requirements: bachelor’s degree in English, master’s degree preferred; teaching experience preferred.
Career:
Drafting instructor (AutoCAD). Position requirements: Bachelor’s degree in drafting or related field; minimum two (2) years work experience; teaching experience preferred.
Residential wiring instructor. Position requirements: high school diploma, master electrician certification; 5 years work experience; associate degree and teaching experience preferred.
Electronics instructor. Position requirements: Bachelor’s degree in electronics or related field; minimum two (2) years work experience; teaching experience preferred.
Phlebotomy instructor. Provide classroom, laboratory and/or clinical instruction; teaching may be days, evenings or weekends. Develop clinical rotations for laboratory/hospital placements in conjunction with laboratory/hospitals; evaluate students’ laboratory competencies. Position requirements: registered nurse OR medical laboratory technologist OR certified phlebotomist; must have minimum of five (5) years current/recent experience; associate degree preferred. All degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions.
