Databases
- Statistical Universe (VIVA) indexes statistics from the U.S. federal government, international intergovernmental organizations, private organizations, and state governments. This database does not include the actual statistics -- it only tells you where to find them (some links to the full text of statistics are provided, however). Feel free to ask a librarian or library assistant for help.
- Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage (RCC only)
A comprehensive database of financial information, covering corporate research, competitive analysis, investment information, and industry analysis.

Provides easy access to the full range of statistics and information produced by 70 agencies in the United States federal government for public use.
- NationMaster
Provides 335 statistical data sets for various countries of the world and features the most frequently requested stats on the home page. Also allows users to create their own graphs comparing nations.
- State and County Quickfacts
From the U.S. Census Bureau, provides people, geography, and business facts by state and county.
- Census Data for the United States, 1790-1860
From 1790-1830, most of the data is population breakdowns by age, sex, and free status (free or slave). After 1830, additional data is available, such as occupation, education, mortality, and property.
- City County Data Book
Demographic data by county and city in the U.S.
- CountryReports.org
Provides up-to-date information on population, geography, economy, history, and politics. The site also presents a lively array of extras, such as audio clips of national anthems and links to current weather reports.
- Cooper Center of Virginia Provides the latest data for the state of Virginia, including population estimates used by the legislature for funding localities.
- EDGAR
A database of corporate filings submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
- Kids Count Data Book Online National as well as state-by-state profiles, graphs showing state indicators over time, maps based on KIDS COUNT data, and state rankings. You can even download data that you can manipulate yourself. This publication and website are just part of the Annie E. Casey Foundation's KIDS COUNT Initiative.
