Transferring to a four-year institution to complete your bachelor’s degree should be a pleasant experience. However, smooth transitions require planning. We invite you to visit the student development center to learn more about the process. The following are steps intended to help students as they make their way through their education at SVCC with the intention of transferring to a four-year institution.

Steps to a Successful Transfer:

Make sure you are in the system as a transfer student. This will alert the college that you intend to continue your education after leaving SVCC.
It is important to select your transfer school
Following the advice of your advisor, Student Development and your transfer institution will help make transferring smoother.
Be familiar with the general education requirements at the four-year schools.
Contact the financial aid office at the transfer institution the semester before you transfer.
